Requirements - M.S. in Actuarial Science

Course Work
The Master's Degree requires 24 credits of course work (8 classes). A typical program would include the following courses:

  • Math 365: Financial Mathematics I
  • Math 366: Operations Research
  • Math 369: Financial Mathematics II
  • Math 387-388: Actuarial Mathematics
  • Math 392: Advanced Topics in Actuarial Mathematics I
  • Math 393: Advanced Topics in Actuarial Mathematics II
  • Math 394: Survival Models
  • Math 395: Risk Theory
  • Math 397: Actuarial Research
  • Finance 301: Financial Management
  • Finance 302: Introduction to Investments

Actuarial Exams
In order to graduate, two exams of the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society have to be passed.
